Burnout is something many students experience, so you're definitely not alone. One of the biggest things I've learned from going through an associates program, undergrad and the masters program is that taking care of yourself is just as important as working hard. As a high school senior, try to avoid overloading your schedule, make time for activities you enjoy, get enough sleep, stay active, and don't feel guilty about taking breaks. Once you get to college, staying organized becomes one of the best ways to reduce stress. Use a planner or digital calendar, break large assignments into smaller tasks, and avoid waiting until the last minute. I also recommend finding a study routine that works for you, asking for help early if you're struggling, and building a support system through friends, professors, or mentors. Remember that college is a marathon, not a sprint. There will be busy seasons, but learning to balance your responsibilities while making time to recharge will help you stay motivated and prevent burnout in the long run.

Hi Carson! This is a great question and I can offer some advice using my child as an example. For her, it is about balacing your time and organization. Try to create a schedule for yourself to allow time for not only your school work, but socialization as well as other extracarricular activities. Make time for things that are fun and make you happy. Set reasonable goals for yourself, this will give you the confidence you will need to keep going. Also, sleep is essential so make sure you get at least 7-8 hours every night. One thing that has helped her tremendously is organization. Creating a schedule and trying her best to stick to it. If you are organized, then that causes less stress in your life. Also remember though, if you must change your schedule or reorganize, it is okay, do not stress. You can try multiple different ways to do all of this and just find the one that fits best for you.
