Beth’s Answer

I work in environmental sustainability, helping a company manage its impact on the environment. I find this career very rewarding, and sustainability is a strong career choice in many businesses. There are also fantastic nonprofits nationwide that focus on this work. They team up with the government, foundations, and companies to protect and restore the environment. Check out local and national nonprofits! Best of luck to you!

Hello Stephen,

I received your message. You seem like an ideal mentor, even though my background is in Finance. Environmental science is a fascinating and important field because it involves science, problem-solving, and a commitment to protecting our planet. If you're considering this path, here are some tips:

1. Understand the field: Environmental science includes areas like ecology, climate change, pollution control, renewable energy, and conservation.
2. Build a strong foundation: Focus on subjects like biology, chemistry, physics, and math. Participate in science fairs, environmental clubs, and volunteer work to apply what you learn.
3. Gain real-world experience: Internships with environmental organizations, government agencies, or research labs can provide practical skills.

From my perspective outside the USA, in Albania, such a job pays about $8,310 yearly. I can't offer advice on gaining experience, as it's not my area of expertise. Best wishes to you always.
