What areas of my strengths should i upskill or should i add more skill?

What I notice is that, i learn the gist of information when it is in a question and answer form, basically I excel in test-taking and I am great in process of eliminations in exams since I've been consistently get the high scores from those prof. ed subjects we take in my current course, elementary education.

I can also somehow write essays and research rrl especially composing reflections since I love how i glue my thoughts and realizations.

and I have good sense of communication skills since i am currently a student assistant in Admission. so the way i speak has a good tone and sounds welcoming (and i have an experience in hosting in one event) and i coached/taught those new interns in admission and i received a feedback from our Admission head that im good at teaching them.

and now, im learning new language. not that im fully commit to it, but i spend at least even a 5 minutes to learn.

but honestly, I want to learn more beyond that. I want to explore more in other field, like editing and doing creative stuff because i know there's a lot of potential in me and i used to edit pictures before like enhancing it etc. but i just dont have a day to allot to upskill due to prior commitments with school activities plus there are times that there aren't any opportunity to apply these skills outside the school.

what do you suggest? and what essential skills should i learn when i start my career/job?

It is fantastic that you have such clear self-awareness about your existing strengths—excelling in test-taking, strong communication and welcoming presence from your student assistant role, effective teaching skills, and a reflective writing ability are all incredibly valuable assets that you absolutely should leverage in your Elementary Education career. Rather than completely abandoning these strengths to start new skills from scratch, the most strategic way to upskill is to integrate your creative interests directly into your current strengths, transforming them into high-value professional skills; for example, you can upskill your communication by learning basic video editing to create engaging, short instructional clips for a class project, or apply your photo editing interest to designing visually appealing and professional-looking classroom materials and presentations, thereby maximizing your time by serving both your academic goals and your creative passion. Given your future in education, the most essential skills to learn now that will immediately elevate your career are digital literacy and curriculum design skills—specifically becoming proficient in learning management systems, basic graphic design for classroom visuals, and data analysis to interpret student performance, because these are practical requirements for modern teaching, and your strong foundation in communication and teaching makes you the ideal candidate to master them. You have a great set of talents and a wonderful path ahead, so keep looking for ways to blend your interests with your professional goals. Good luck with your studies and future career!

Hi Yla - Your ability to use the process of elimination is a sophisticated asset in any professional environment. It allows you to listen, adapt quickly, and identify the most effective solutions by weighing options with clear, logical reasoning.

To excel in this, you must continue to lean into your critical thinking skills. This approach doesn't just solve problems; it significantly elevates the quality of every decision you make. You can apply this framework across your entire career journey—from navigating the job search and excelling in interviews to resolving complex issues in your daily work.

Career Paths to Consider:
Journalism: Your analytical nature and ability to filter information are perfectly suited for this field. There are currently incredible opportunities for those who can find the truth amidst the noise.
Content Writing & Editing: Your critical thinking and communication skills are essential for building and empowering communities. Whether as a creative writer or a strategic editor, you have the potential to shape how specific audiences perceive and act on information.
Ultimately, your knack for identifying the "best path forward" is what will make you a leader in these fields.
