what are some typical activities in a BIM's (building information modeling) day of work?

I am a 10th grade IT student set to graduate highschool with an associates degree and I would like to blend my enjoyment for building (architecture), with my given major (information technology), and being a BIM sounds like a good midpoint between the two. I would like a little more knowledge about what they do on a day to day basis, and if a BIM would work at a specific company or if companies would hire a BIM just for a couple models.

Hi Andrew!

At the architecture firm I work at, the BIM team is so valuable. They set up projects and templates, create and fix families, trouble shoot any questions the architectural staff may have throughout the day and are always staying up to date on the latest software in technologies (that includes utilizing AI). They've taught the firm how to utilize tools created to measure sustainability, be more efficient and integrate rhino with Revit. I really appreciate that my firm gives the BIM the freedom to innovate and find ways to make our jobs as designers and architects more efficient (and exciting). Seems like a growing niche that's changing every day.
