What forums do you use to introduce yourself as Freelance?
Where are the best forums to introduce yourself as freelance (for someone soon to have animation degree) to get hired for jobs and recruited for team projects ?

Being an Animator is one of those awesome careers because you can both freelance as well as obtain paid positions at companies !
Since you want to freelance after graduation from college, some websites that you can register at are Upwork, Fiverr, Linked In, ArtStation, Behance's job board, Contra is a modern freelance platform that allows creatives to manage projects without commission fees, offering a clean interface for proposals and contract management, CGHero is a marketplace built specifically for animation, Polycount, Creativepool, Twine, Guru, Hitmarker, and TheRookies.
For Chicago specifically, there is ProductionHub, ZipRecruiter, and Animation Jobs.
Leaving no stone unturned, you may also want to subscribe to professional Animation Journals to keep up to date with the industry and possibly see projects to apply for. The Journals are Animation Magazine, VFXWorld Magazine, 3D World Magazine, Imagine FX, Post Magazine, Befores and Afters, Animation World Network, Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds, After Image, Animation: An Interdisciplinary Journal, and Broadcast Film and Video. I don't reckon this is a complete list, however. It is great that there are many resources available to you.
You'll need an online portfolio as well as a resume and demo reel of your work. My advice, for optimum amount of work, is to gear your work to a universal audience to increase your chances of getting some projects. That means style from cutesy to pretty, traditional to trendy and show that you can mix animation with live action. Think commercials, cartoons, gaming and every type of animation. Show a variety in your portfolio.
Some websites for having your portfolio on are ArtStation, Behance, Vimeo, Adobe Portfolio, Wix, Squarespace Google Sites, Coroflot, Dribbble and Carbonmade.
Remember that networking in person will also be important at events, expos, job fairs, and anything connected to animation and video in Chicago. Have business cards made up, too.
