What type of careers can I focus on with Public Health as my major and how many years would I need to become an occupational therapist? Is it very difficult?

Hi Grace,
this is a very interesting question combining specialties that are not often seen together. From a public health/health equity perspective you might consider that your niche would best serve those that are cognitively or developmentally disabled (either organically or due to injury). This is certainly an underserved community that would have need for OT. To that end, I would recommend a dual major in OT and public health. In addition, I would recommend taking courses in special education as you'll find children with autism or Down Syndrome are in need of OT.
