I am a penetration tester and the most challenging thing I faced when I begun is lack of instant reward. When you work on a project you are acting like the bad guys to find a way into the application. This takes time to understand the architecture, and how the application works then the process of trying now you can figure out ways to hack it. This will get better with time because you will learn to be persistent and curious throughout the several projects. The rewards are really nice where you help the application team to fix flaws you found. The benefit is that you learn how to be patient and meticulous while staying curious.

Hi Logan,
I am glad to hear that you are interested in Cybersecurity. This is a growing field. I am currently working in technical writing, but I did work in cybersecurity for many years.
The IT Cybersecurity field has many types of job opportunities. Not all of them require college.
See the CareerOneStop link below for more information about IT Cybersecurity careers.
If you are planning on college, you will need a fair amount of math and computer science courses. Talk to your high school counselor for more details.
What is the most challenging part of an IT Cybersecurity analyst's job? The most challenging part is staying ahead of the bad guys. For a large corporate data center, it is common to see many thousands of attempted breaches per day. The security system needs to defeat every breach. The bad guys only need to succeed once. And if they succeed, the consequences can be devastating.
But don’t let that challenge put you off. Cybersecurity is everyone’s responsibility. The data center needs to have a solid security system that adapts to evolving threats. But all users of the data center are also responsible for doing their part to keep the system secure.
I hope you will continue to pursue a career in IT Cybersecurity. This is a field that needs more talented workers.
Good Luck to you in all that you do.
