How do I become an archaeologist?
Hello! I am a student in Arizona and I have been using MyFutureAZ to research my future career. I have always loved uncovering hidden secrets, similar to how I enjoy solving difficult riddles. In my free time, I look up hard riddles to solve or mysteries to uncover. The secrets of the past interest me the most, especially the mystery of Cleopatra’s tomb. I want to become an Archaeologist or Anthropologist so I can do this on a much larger scale. What does a typical day look like when you are searching for secrets or artifacts at a real excavation site?

The first two links below are first-hand accounts from an archaeologist and anthropologist about their daily work lives. In addition, I noticed multiple videos, if you prefer that medium.
While solving ancient mysteries is exciting, please be aware that conditions on excavations can be challenging - laboring in the heat, having to work super carefully so you don't miss or break artifacts, occasional disappointments if you don't find what you are looking for. Also, you may have to combine field work with teaching or writing to make a living.
The last link below gives details on how to become an archaeologist. I hope this helps and wish you good luck!
