How long did it take you to feel truly confident and skilled as a welder, not just able to do the job, but to consistently produce high quality work. What specific experiences or milestones helped you reach that point??
I’m a 16 year old girl who’s really interested in becoming a welder, and I’m trying to understand what the learning process actually feels like over time. I want to get to the point where I can consistently produce strong, high quality welds and feel confident in my skills.

Livia, I’m going to respond to your question, although, I have no experience as a welder. However, I do know a couple of people who have succeeded in the field! (Both decided to enlist in the military.) During their time in service, they learned MIG and TIG welding - not just making wrought-iron tables! They served their time and after their service they have never been without a great paying career!
Best of luck!
