What study tips would you give to a full time mother and employee?
I am about to start my classes online in a few weeks and I am seeking tips on how to balance school and work life and be successful in school.

First of all - congrats on continuing to learn and grow! I love everything that was noted above. The only thing I would add is to make time to study with other people in a group - you'll be more energized when studying, you'll see / hear things you wouldn't have, and things will stick more.

Hello Diane,
First I would set a routine just like I’m going to work. I also would block out times for work, school, and family. The time that you set for school, make it like it’s an appointment and your on time, it’s just you and your work. Try to study the same time everyday or every other day and limit your time with school work so that you don’t get overwhelmed. Once you set a time limit don’t forget to get up and stretch, to refresh your body and mind. Pace yourself and don’t over do it, have patience with yourself.

Hi Diane,
Balancing online classes, work, and motherhood is demanding, but focused, small‑scale habits can help you succeed in school.
- Choose 1–2 short “anchor times” daily for study (early morning, naptime, or after bedtime) and protect them.
- Use the Pomodoro method: 20–25 minutes of study, 5 minutes off; repeat 1–2 times per session.

- Plan your week: note work hours, classes, study blocks, and family time, plus assignment deadlines.
- Set 1–2 tiny goals per session (e.g., “finish this reading” or “do 3 practice questions”).
- Ask your family to respect your study blocks and share chores when deadlines are near.
- Take 10–15 minutes for a walk, stretch, or deep breaths after study to stay mentally clear.
