How can you be persistent with clients without displeasing them ?

As an aspiring real estate agent, I am positive that every "yes" or "no" from a client may not be in their best interest. I want to professionally handle bad judgement, while making sure their voice is heard.

Hi Zaniya!

Great question! It's tough to say no to customers, especially when you want to help. But sometimes, it's best to be honest so they don't get the wrong idea. It's important to know what the customer really wants. If some things can't be done, talking about what can be achieved shows you're focused on finding solutions while being realistic. This approach helps both you and the customer.

Good luck!

Carrie’s Answer

In a client-facing role, it's important to be curious and dig deeper. If a client says no, ask why. They might not fully understand what they're rejecting or what they could miss out on.

Early on, ask questions to understand their needs, goals, and what they risk by not achieving those goals. Sometimes, no is the right answer due to a bad fit, budget issues, or timing. Building trust through these conversations encourages clients to be honest about their reasons, helping you adjust your approach.

Keep improving your learning and communication skills!

Malika’s Answer

Hi Zaniya,

I appreciate you taking the initiative to ask this question.

The best thing you can do is act as a consultant for your client. Ask probing questions to genuinely qualify their needs, and then find them a solution that is tailored to their specifications, that way you're reducing the chances of a "no". The primary factor for most people is their budget being a non-negotiatiable so that is an area that I would highly recommend you prioritise when finding a suitable solution for a customer. Don't push something that is not in line with their needs, as you're losing credibility to your own personal branding.

Hope this helps!

All the best.

Milla’s Answer

Hi Zanyia,

This is a fantastic question, especially as you start a client-facing career like real estate. Learning to be persistent without being pushy is a vital skill.

From my experience with real projects, I've found that persistence should feel like respect and attention, not pressure.

Timing is crucial when talking to clients. Choose a calm, focused moment to truly listen. It's more about listening than talking—understanding their needs and reading between the lines to grasp what they really want.

Being fully present in conversations is key: no distractions, no phone, just eye contact and full attention. This builds trust quickly.

Remember, some clients know exactly what they want. In these cases, guide them gently, offer suggestions, and adapt while respecting their decisions.

Ultimately, strong client relationships are built on listening and trust, not just convincing. When clients feel heard, they're more open to your ideas.

Warm greetings from Brazil! 🇧🇷
