What is something that was helpful when finding and reaching out for positions in internships or for shadowing, especially when trying to create an in with a Veterinarian?
I'm a high school senior committed to Colorado State University. I am already looking into joining the pre-vet club for extra support and opportunities. However, I feel that my weakness with interviews will translate over to internships and shadowing. I am just looking for more personalized advice from someone who has experienced the same, and may have useful advice pertaining to the field.

Hi there Sofia:) Congratulations on already having the clarity on your focus & taken the initiative to set up a plan for pursuing your passion! It appears you’re already on the path to acquiring more experience and making a presence in your field of interest; the pre vets club involve ment should open up many doors for future opportunities.
That said, you seem to be concerned about your interviewing skills. As you’re still in high school and have already committed to an academic program, why not speak to both your current guidance counselor &/ or career advisor/development center representative to set up a “mock interview “ session or tutorial?!? You may not have already begun to look at/explore professional networking platforms on social media ( such as LinkedIn) yet there are plenty of resources available to you on a college entrance / preparation level. This may be very informative and helpful in a practical sense as you learn to navigate the field you’re interested in; I would suggest you seek the support of your current community & peers as well as the college you’re soon to be attending.
Best of luck and would appreciate hearing how your path is unfolding👍
