Jose’s Answer

Hi Morgan,
The practice of law may raise moral dilemmas from an external perspective, but nothing could be further from the truth. Defending an accused person is not about circumventing the system to acquit them knowing they are guilty, but about guaranteeing their fundamental right to a fair trial, just as a doctor does not compromise when treating a criminal wounded in a shooting to guarantee their fundamental right to life. In my opinion, to provide competent legal services, one does not have to renounce principles or moral values, but rather prioritize justice over any possible personal bias.

DENNIS A’s Answer

Hi Morgan: You do not have to compromise anything. In criminal law a lawyer's job is to make sure the police did their jobs right. Police are suppose to protect the rights of everyone - even the bad guy. You need to be yourself first and foremost. If something bohters you do not take the case. It is that simple. So Morgan, go out and be true to yourself and all will be fine!
Good luck!
