How do nursing students work during school?
I'm a non-traditional student currently in my last semester of nursing prerequisites. I took a big risk and left my job of 7 years to pursue a degree in healthcare. How do nursing students work during their programs while also getting good grades? #Spring26

Balancing work and school is tough, no matter your job. The best jobs fit well with your school and life. Ideally, you want a job where you can use what you learn in nursing school. Jobs like CNA, PCT, or EMT, either per-diem or part-time, are great for this.
If those aren't an option, work-study jobs at your school are also good because they understand you're a student. Jobs with lots of flexibility are helpful too. These include gig jobs like driving for Uber, delivering with Instacart or DoorDash, or dog walking with Rover or babysitting/nanny on the weekends. They let you work when it suits you and focus on school when needed.

Greetings Emily!
Balancing a job with a nursing program can be challenging, but many students manage by opting for part-time work or studies to avoid feeling overwhelmed. If going part-time isn't possible, staying organized and realistic about your time is key.
Don't hesitate to ask for help early on, and be clear about what support you need. While gaining work experience is valuable, it's okay to choose a less stressful job while you're in school.
I hope you obtain all of the success you desire!
