What are some things I can do to increase my chances of a marketing internship after my freshman year in college? #Spring26

I'm currently a senior in high school. I' very interested in marketing and advertising and would love to get a jump start on connections and possible internships after my freshman year in college. I am a hard worker and good student.

My foremost suggestion is to do a through analysis on the global trend and markets. have a list of fields u want to focus on. you need to visit any of the companies/industries to study the products and services they render and to see how that can be more impactful to your career. Try to talk to more people with expertise and be part of mentorship

First, choose an industry you are interested in. Some industries are very specific, which might limit your future opportunities, while others, like FMCG, are more general. Join school clubs to gain some marketing experience. You can start by planning or organizing events, or marketing and selling for charity. This experience shows your marketing skills before you start your career. Often, even entry-level marketing jobs require some experience. As a new graduate, you may not have work experience, so participating in school clubs is a great way to demonstrate your abilities and succeed in interviews.
