How do you know if you are sure about what to study?
How do you know if you are sure about what to study?
Because I'm not sure what to study, and I've seen many people who, once they're halfway through their degree, no longer enjoy it—and I'm afraid the same thing might happen to me.

Hi Katerin. This is a great question becauae you're giving yourself time to figure out what you want to study. The main questions I have for you are, what do you like to do? What's your favorite subject in school? These questions can help guide you in the right direction.
Even if you're unsure but you have interests, you could study business with the mindset of beginning your own business that revolves around your any of your interests; this would enable you to gain skills working in existing industries before beginning on your journey as an entrepreneur.
Another thing to keep in mind is the cost of college. You're right, you don't want to begin and change your mind during your studies. This is not only disruptive but costly. So, if you like science, education, history, tech, drawing, dance, finance, writing, or even crafting, whatever it is you like, there are job fields that exist and potential majors and minors that are either aligned with your specific interest or very close.
Here's some career quizzes that can help you narrow down your search:

Hi Katerin! There are lots of online tools to help you discover your skills and find careers that match your interests. Try making a list of things you enjoy and look up related careers online. If you can, talk to people who work in those fields to learn what their day-to-day life is like.

Hi Katerin. I don’t know if you’re already in college or preparing for college. But it is common for college students to not be sure what major to pick when they start college.
I had no idea what I wanted to study or what career to pursue when I started college. And, as my first two years progressed, I discovered many of my classmates who seemed to come into college knowing exactly what they wanted to study, changed their minds at least once. I went to a liberal arts school at a university and took a wide variety of courses. After a year and a half, I realized I was most interested in Psychology, and I made that my major.
I like the other answers to your question regarding career quizzes and online tools. My advice is to take a variety of different entry-level courses your first year or two in college. At some point, you’ll discover you’re taking more of an interest in courses in one department or in an activity you’re participating in. This discovery will help you choose a major and maybe a career.
Good luck and best wishes!
