Once you finish school, you'll really start learning how to be a nurse. Make sure to gain as much experience as you can after you graduate.

Nurses always make a positive impact. It is important that we all think about how to care for one another, and the training nurses receive allows them to care for people in many different ways.
To be the best possible healthcare professional, one must be a lifelong learner to keep up with the rapidly changing science supporting patient care. The good news is that all nursing schools are credentialed to provide an excellent basic education. Much of your learning will come from the work experience(s) you choose after school. Many nurses find they wish to pursue advanced training in one of many areas. I have friends who became nurse practitioners. I have friends who did nursing on cruise ships. I have friends who enjoyed being critical care transport nurses (helicopters and ground ambulances). I have friends who have done a lot of international nursing - bringing their care and expertise to communities around the world that do not have the medical care available that Americans are used to.
What I am trying to convey is that nursing opens up many wonderful possibilities for you to do the good you wish to do in this world. Thank you for planning to help others.
