If you're looking for an entry-level role with direct patient care, I'd say becoming a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) is one of the best places to start. The training is relatively short compared to other nursing careers, and you get hands-on experience working with patients in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, or home health.

A lot of nurses start out as CNAs because it gives you a solid understanding of patient care while helping you decide whether you want to continue toward becoming an LVN/LPN or RN. It's a great way to get your foot in the door and build experience early on.

There are quite a few state-approved nursing schools that offer CNA training, including SisuCare and LA Skills Academy, so it's worth checking out programs in your area if this sounds like something you'd be interested in.

Patient Transporter! You take patients various places in the hospital. Get them from their room and take them to xray, for example. Responsible for making sure the equipment is maintained in working order and placing unsafe equipment out of order. Use 2-way radio to receive instructions.

It's my favorite job to recommend for people just getting into the field. You need good people skills and a high level of safety awareness.
