Can welding be a part time job?

I'm not sure how much you get paid if you are "part time" or how that would work. I would go to a trade school to get my certification. How would I find a part time welding job?

Chandler’s Answer

A friend of mine used to work with me in cybersecurity as her main job. On the side, she had a business making iron fences, taking clients from Friday to Sunday. She arranged with her employer to work four 10-hour days. As her side business grew through referrals, she decided to make it her full-time career. When she left our cybersecurity company, we were all very supportive and happy for her.

Chandler recommends the following next steps:

1) Look for small businesses that offer iron fences as a product
2) Look for large businesses that allow a 4 x 10 schedule
3) Learn both trades and decide which one is best for you
4) Start getting referrals for your work
5) Pick the best for you or work them both until you are financially independent
