I need an entry level job?

Hello my name is Dylan, I'm 15 I live in North East Ohio and I cant seem to find anywhere that will hire me. I was wondering if maybe there were any entry level online jobs I could do, considering my luck with in person applications. Im pretty tech savvy I own and understand how to use a computer, I'm free everyday after school, and I'm very motivated to work(I've been filling in applications since the day I turned 14) and I don't need a very high paying job neither. Thank you!!!!

Thank you comment icon Not a professional, but I'm also 14, and wanted a job, I worked at a gardening community and there are also stipend programs. It's not online but It is something. Jada

Hi Dylan,

See below on a couple online options that could be good side gigs for teens. Hope this helps! I encourage you to also look for in-person after school jobs as many companies offer flexible part-time jobs for teens as well, as mentioned above check local grocery stores, movie theaters, restaurants etc. that can work with your schedule and availability.

Online Tutoring: Help elementary or middle school students with math, reading, or basic subjects via Zoom. Pay usually ranges from $10 to $30 per hour.

Website and App Testing: Use platforms like User Testing to test new websites or apps, click through features, and provide feedback on usability. Pay typically averages $10 per test.

Data Entry: Help companies with administrative tasks, typing information (names, numbers, notes etc.) reviewing electronic files and fixing errors in spreadsheets or databases from home.

One thing to be aware of, is age restrictions some of these online roles may require you to be a certain age to work with that company or need parent approval.

Hi Dylan! Love that you're so eager to find a job and grow.
You might want to pick something that will not only help you to earn, but also would allow you trying some careers for the future. On top of what was already offered, a few more ideas I suggest looking at:
- Digital services for local businesses - it's not that difficult now to learn to build simple websites or even apps. You can use free resources like Khan academy or Coursera or even just practice with ChatGPT or Claude. It's a great skill to have, and you can offer it to local businesses in your area (like small local stores and services businesses) - many could find it useful. Even for small money it could be helpful for them and a great learning for you
- Development in online gaming platforms like Roblox or Minecraft - these platforms allow building items or your own games and earning money for this. It helps you flex your creativity and could give you a taste of game dev experience. They have free beginner documentation you would need to read first.
Both will require some time from you to learn something new. But they would also give you a taste how some digital jobs look like.

Wishing you good luck!
