How do dental hygienist balance workload on the days they are in the office? Since dental hygienists often only work 4 days a week, does that make the work load a lot harder on those days??

I am considering going into a profession in the dental field. Want to get a better idea about how dental hygienist balance their work-life schedules and how intense the workload is.

It really depends on the office. My office hours have changed over the years.
I've been a full time hygienist for thirty one years. When I began my career in dental hygiene, I was single and just out of school, and I worked two evenings (10 am-7 pm) and one day(8 am-5 pm)
Within the same practice, when the need was available to work full time I worked two evenings and two days.
Then, after I was married, and we had our first child, because of my loyalty to the practice, I was able to change my schedule to mostly days.
After twenty eight years in one practice, the doctor retired, and it was time to move on.
I currently work until three on 3 days, and 5 on 1 day.
There is a great need right now for dental hygienists.
I believe because of this and my experience level, I was able to explain to the doctor what I had available to work and it worked out.
