BEVERLEY’s Answer

Nursing does not have internships. You will complete clinical hours as part of your degree.

BEVERLEY recommends the following next steps:

If you are exploring nursing as an option you can seek out volunteer work in a medical setting.
You can also complete a Certified Nurse Aid course to see if you like the medical field and/or to be able to gain entry level employment while you continue your education.

Trinea’s Answer

In Atlanta, GA nursing students can apply for paid externships in their junior and/or senior semester of school at various hospitals. I'm not sure how it works in other cities and states. I found my externship via Indeed and was fortunate to get in at the same hospital I wanted to work at as an RN in the Emergency Department. The hospital is one of the country's largest and busiest Level 1 Trauma Centers. Once I graduated with my BSN and passed NCLEX the hospital transitioned me into their Nurse Residency program, and I began working full-time as an Emergency Room Nurse.
