I'll always remember what my first boss as a manager at AT&T told me. He said my goal each and every day was to take care of my boss and make him look good. If you take care of him, he will take care of you.

People in the business field usually advance with promotions and elections. They have to be good workers and also have good attitude. It is also good for them to have qualities board members or their bosses look for.

Thank you for your question. I am glad to hear that you also plan to advance your career.
In fact, there are many different types of careers within business, e.g. accounting, finance, banking, etc. Each of these may require different professional knowledge and skills. To advance the career, on one hand, you would need to work hard and acquire more experience in the career. In the process, you would learn how to apply your knowledge into real life.
On the other hand, there is something new appears from time to time. You have to keep your knowledge up to update, e.g. attending seminars, indutry meetings, etc. from time to time. You can also establsih your people network via attending these events.
You can also continue your study, e.g. taking postgraudate degree course on part time basis, etc.
