This depends on the employer and how soon they need someone for the position.

Resume and interview is key! As long as you have a solid resume, research the company before your interview, excel at the interview then that should help you immensely.

Great question. This depends on the level, your location, and the position you’re looking to hire. Our data shows:

  • On average it takes an average of 43 daysfor time to fill (time from opening the job to getting someone to accept the offer) in the US.
  • For time to hire (time from candidate applying to them getting an offer) is 24 days in the US. We see a high of 32 days for product management roles and a low of 17 days for healthcare.

These benchmarks are exactly that, benchmarks. Hiring an VP in a small town is going to take longer than hiring one in New York simply because there is a larger pool of candidates with the necessary experience. Additionally hiring executives is going to take longer than an entry level candidate.

Its good to be paying attention to these metrics though, and benchmarks are helpful. Time to hire is especially helpful because once the candidate has applied then you should be moving quickly to hire because it gives you a competitive advantage. Knowing these metrics for your company can help you set targets to improve this and accelerate your hiring.

On top of time to fill, you need to account for the candidate giving notice to their current job, which is typically 2–4 weeks.

Over the last couple of years recruiters have become more data driven in regularly reporting these metrics to their team.

Hi there ! As the previous answers said, this really depends on various factors such as the location, position they are hiring and the company as well. For example, smaller companies that are just starting or urgent positions tend to hire fast ! In my experience it usually took at least 5~6 weeks after I submitted my resume. I advise you to write a solid resume, do some research about the company before you hear from them and be prepared! Have confidence and be ready to seize the opportunity when it comes to you :)
