Jackson T. - you sound a lot like I did when i graduated both High School and College. I learned how to be a better mechanic back in the 80's by learning from my Dad, Teacher in High School and Friends who worked on cars. Buying a Chilton's books (you can purchase at Auto part stores) also helped me get from the 80's to today with youtube videos, and forums.

Marko recommends the following next steps:

Buy a Chilton's Book, it was always my bible for my car.

You can easily get this information from the web and specifically youtube videos. But essentially, you want to bleed the brakes by loosening the brake line fittings on each wheel and pump the brake pedal. Be sure to have some sort of reservoir or other container under the fittings. Pour fresh brake fluid into the brake fluid reservoir after you do this. It helps to have someone to do this while you loosen each fitting. That's pretty much it.
