Bridget’s Answer

Depending on the business, certifications may not be necessary.

In Real Estate and Real Estate Adjacent careers certifications are desired and there are certifications in every aspect there being 25+ specializations.
For Business especailly those that deal with "process" haveing a six sigma certification (black or green belt) may be a requirement.
When I graduated in 2014 I was certified with my degree in Business Management, Marketing Management and Human Resources Management, none of which mattered in Real Estate, but the education was useful in running my own company.
Whatever you business choice, you can google what types of certifications may be required to move into or move up within a company, in addition some companies may offer to pay for certian certifications if you can negotiate them into your hiring package. So do your research into what is needed and potentially required for your career path.

Shikha’s Answer

Hello Wendy,

I agree with the answers above however I think its much more Important to know your stuff rather than just getting certifications. Always remember nothing can replace real work experience and if you have a cert but you dont have the real knowledge behind it thats not gonna work.

Work towards understanding the subject matter and not just certifications.

Cedric’s Answer

Knowing what you are interested in and passionate about are very important. I would start with a careers assessment and learning styles quiz. This will help you identify what you like as well as the best way for you to learn. Knowing your why will help you find not only what certifications you need but help you find career satisfaction.
