Jimmy’s Answer

I recommend that anyone attending culinary school spend time working in a kitchen first. It is not necessarily because the schools require it, but because you need to gain a realistic picture of what the work is. With all of the celebrity chef shows currently, it is easy to get swept up in the glamour of cooking, rather than the reality. The job is rewarding in many ways. It is a career of passion and creativity. It also require dedication and hard work like any career worth pursuing.

Adrienne’s Answer

You need to decide if the hospitality industry is right for you before you invest in that education. Get a job at a restaurant first - kitchen, hosting, waiting, washing dishes.
Decide which restaurant you want to work in first.
Then you will see if the fit is right for you. It is demanding lifestyle, but I love it.

It's Always Good To Go Into Any Situation With A Little Background Research Done First. Just Think Of It As Going Into A Pitch Black Room With A Halogen Flashlight Handy Instead Of Having A Sleeping Mask On.
