Hi Michele,
A CMAA's day typically would consist of answering phones, scheduling patients, checking in/out patients, verifying insurance information and eligibility, just to name a few. You will be the first face the patients see when they come in the door, so a neat and clean appearance and a pleasant smile will give that first positive impression about the practice. You would also be responsible for collecting copayments from patients and answering billing questions from patients. Some are also trained to take vital signs, so you may be called upon to assist clinical Medical Assistants as well in that area. You are also taught some billing and coding and be trained in that area of specialty as well.
Hope this information was helpful
