What if you know you want to follow the pre-med track, but you aren't sure what exact pre-med career you want to do?

I know that I love science and especially biology, but I'm not sure what I want/could do with thaT? #college #science #biology

You can always go for your pre-med requirements at really any college you want. Those classes are just general education and some specifications in your field. You won't start taking classes until you graduate with your undergraduate degree, in pre-med. Then you'll go to an actual college for you doctorate degree. Once you go to school for your doctorate degree is when you should start worrying about what you want to practice.

There are many avenues to pursue with biology. The pre-med route will include as much chemistry and physics as biology, mostly straight, vertebrate, mammalian biology. The pure biology route will take you through natural history, paleontology, cladistics and lots of field work with all sorts of critters; those of your choosing.

I did both. I should have started with the natural history route and kept to it.

In pre-med, you have to decide whether or not you want to commit to medicine. If you do, it is a 24/7/365 commitment with no let-up. Becoming a physician is a very precise and concentrated life. If you really want to do that, go for it and don't look back.

Happy trails...
