Hello Morgan, for working in the nursing field with technology, you will want good familiarity with technology in order to solve common issues. Comp-TIA certifications such as A+ are good for this, as well as the beginner certifications from Microsoft. The basics will give you a good foundation to solve the most common configuration problems with browsers, file sharing, and network devices such as printers.

Computer Sciences , Big Data and Data mining , Linking to Health care economics will help drive to a interesting career path. You can also look at Healthcare, Drug R&D to understand where the needs for Drugs and related therapeutic needs align.
Pick up a good topic for research that can impact both you and general population (uninsured) and be motivated for using Tech and your nursing skills to drive health quality care.

Thanks
