what state would be the best to live in to start a interior design business?

Hi Mckenzie,
Interior design field turly booming all over the world. First you will need to decide if you want to offer Residential or Commerical or both. For states like San Francsico, LA, New York, MA, etc. they have hue opportunity for commerical, yet you will face a lot of well know architecture and interior firms. If you thinking about residential, look for states that has hue impact in real estate such as TX and FL. Once you establish your firm, you can travel all other states to get the clients. So you will need to be patience.
