Is international relationships a good major?

I am neither in the scientific side nor the humanities side, i'm just in between. Still, I really enjoy writing, history and politics. Is this major right for me? #major #choosing-a-major

Be curious everything is good habit ! When you confuse about major how about attend internship. Between real filed and studies are different. and then just think about your job. For me, my major is about design. So did internship and worked as design field but that is not suitable for me. So I changed my career. So just be open minded and act diverse thing. :)
Thank you comment icon Finding an internship to test out international relations is a good idea! Do you have any suggestions on where to look or what this type of internship would entail? Gurpreet Lally, Admin

It can be but it depends on what you would like to do with your career. Many of the International Relations jobs tend to trend towards government service, private companies that support government service, and education. If you are interested in government service then it works really well if you want to work for the State Department, Department of Defence or one of the intelligence agencies. Some of which actually pay who or partial scholarships.

If you are interested in International Relations you will likely need to learn a foreign language as it becomes important that you can converse in the native language of the area you are interested in.

Hi Macarena, be a sponge and stay curious! Especially as you are starting out. One thing I would start with is ask yourself a couple questions. First, what do you enjoy about work or do you enjoy studying? (sounds like you already have part of this) Second, do you think whatever you choose to do will require more schooling after your initial bachelors? This will provide a little space to breath as in my experience as an HR Practitioner, not all people end up obtaining a BA which matches their Masters.

These will help set the foundation of a greater self-awareness. Which is the greatest piece of advice I can give to anyone starting out, know yourself. Might seem a little cliche, but people tend to respect others with this quality.

Good Luck to you!
