Yasemin’s Answer

Hi Aowynn! The healthcare field can be difficult at times, especially with the COVID Pandemic which has shown this pretty well. However it is also a very rewarding field because you get to help many individuals and make a difference in their lives! This field does require time and dedication, however if you truly feel that it is for you then that could ease some of the challenges that come with it.

I wish you the best!

Kim’s Answer

Hi Aowynn
The advice you have been given is excellent. And passion for helping people is a very common trait among successful careers in healthcare. I will just further add that you may want to consider gaining insight into your natural strengths to better understand the career matches (potentially in this field) for you. There are several assessments available to discover your true strengths. My favorite is StrengthsFinder. The resulting report will give you insight into what strengths you have naturally and what career opportunities may be a good fit. Healthcare is a very diverse field so there is a good chance you will find a good fit somewhere. And it may be in a career you never knew existed. Best wishes to you.

Kim recommends the following next steps:

Research StrengthsFinder and other assessments to determine value to you.
Take the assessment and review the report to help guide your career decisions.
Retain the report for reference during your career path.

With the current climate, health care workers are our heroes. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, many health workers are putting in extra hours and being stretched thin. Keep in mind, this is because of the pandemic.

Leahanne’s Answer

Every profession is hard if you're applying all of your best skills, talents and passions toward changing and serving people. The question for you is - is this the area you most want to impact in the world? If it is, then go for it. The rewards to you and those you serve will outweigh the challenges.
