[closed] What are some common reasons to present in business?

Hello,

My name is Aimee and I am a current business student with a major of management and an interest of business administration. I already have an associate's degree, and I will soon finish obtaining my bachelor's degree in the same field. My hope and passion is to become an office manager and to see where the road takes me. So far I have brushed up on my typing skills, communication skills, and obtained more knowledge about the business world. Therefore, I would like to do my best and apply my academic knowledge to the professional working world. I would like to ask in place of fellow business classmates and friends who have a similar question: "Why would someone present a speech in business?"

I appreciate your advice. #business #business-management #leadership #lifestyle #business-communication

Hi Aimee,

So happy to see that you have such a passion for business administration and that you have learned so much to equip yourself for this very important role within a company!

Your question is why would someone give or present a speech within a business.

There are two possible audiences/stakeholders for a speech:
1. Internal (people working inside the company
2. External (people working outside the company such as current and potential clients/customers, current or potential investors, etc.)

Therefore, in an internal setting, the speech could be made for a variety of reasons such as to motivate the team, introduce a new idea or vision, or anything that needs to be introduced to a team in order for change to happen.

In an external setting, it could be done to make a sale or to convince investors to think your company is worth investing in.

These are a few reasons it would be helpful for you to learn and improve your communications!

I greatly recommend listening to ted.com for Tedtalks which come with some of the most inspiring and informative talks of our time.
