Hi Jadaya,
These are some great answers, but to add on, you could also contact local organizations like homeless shelters or women's shelters to see if they are in need of help and what you can do. You can contact local nursing homes to see if you could do anything like chat with the elderly or make activities for them, like crossword puzzles. Good luck!

There are several virtual volunteering opportunities available! Some examples:

1) Tutor underrepresented students (check out https://upchieve.org/volunteer)
2) Serve as eyes for the visually impaired (check out https://www.bemyeyes.com/)
3) Help transcribe physical books into digital ones (check out https://www.bookshare.org/cms/get-involved/volunteer)

Many websites and blogs have been created to compile lists of virtual opportunities (check out https://www.pointsoflight.org/virtual-volunteering-opportunities/). I would recommend taking a look at them with a quick Google search!

Hi Jadaya:

Awesome job on wanting to volunteer. You've received some great resources from the previous CV Professionals. What comes to mind immediately for virtual volunteering is "Volunteer Match". Make sure to click on Virtual Opportunities. Also, you could reach out to your local community to see if there are any mentoring or tutoring opportunities as well; especially if you have elementary, middle and senior high schools near by. I know you will find the right opportunity. Best of luck to you!

Nicole’s Answer

Hi Jadaya L. Thank you for this awesome question.

A couple of options that I can think of. ...1)Online math tutoring, 2)Online reading workshops and/or 3)Online coding. Depending on your level of comfort with each, I suspect that you would find many, many spaces where you could offer support, particularly to younger students. Also consider reaching out to respected members of your local elementary schools. I bet they would LOVE to have someone volunteer to help academically support their students.

I will also had that volunteerism is a fantastic "muscle to build". In my many years of volunteering, I have learned much more than I ever thought I would.

Best of luck to you!
