What is it like to be in the public eye when it comes to sports entertainment?

I have always been curious as to how these athletes live out their daily life as normal citizens. #journalism #athlete #sports-journalism

I've never been a professional athlete but I do work in the field and work with some. Its very difficult to be in the public eye, because of the scrutiny with successes and failures as well as the liability associated with social media. I think many athletes try to avoid controversy but some, because of the bold character traits that have made them successful, can't help but put their thoughts and ideas out there. Sometimes, this can be great for fan interaction and sometimes, they can get themselves into trouble. Most are at least aware of the risks.

All people in the public eye, in sports or entertainment, have to constantly be aware of what they say and do, because any misstep can blow up in the media. This is a trade off of being famous.

Tisha Alyn’s Answer

I find this question funny because my life is really no different than everyone else! My life is not extravagant, it’s just my job is different than the average 9-5. Not often I am recognized outside of a golf course to be honest. When I am on the golf course, whether it’s covering a golf tournament or creating content, I enjoy the conversations when people do approach me. More often than not, I’ll receive countless DM’s after an event from people saying they wish they said hello. I’m always quick to reply back and say next time they absolutely should!
I think what’s great about being a social media influencer/personality is that people are following you because they relate to you. They feel like they know you. To me, it’s a step removed from a celebrity because we are people you can talk and engage with. So when I am in the public eye, and people catch me, I am exactly the same person that they follow on their phone.
