What kind of classes should in college if I want to succeed in being a Firefighter?

I am working towards my dream career and I don't know the specific classes I should take to prepare for that. #firefighting #emt #emergency-management

Becoming a firefighter does not require any college courses. Also, it depends on the fire department. They will provide you with the classes you should take. Each fire department is different.

Agreed, firefighting does not require a degree but I would suggest communications, basic and emergency health care, structural engineering or construction, fire science, or chemistry. Also the CPAT is fairly difficult so be prepared for that.

Hi Hailee,

Though firefighting doesn't require a degree you may want to consider a degree in Fire Science. This career can also lead to fire investigation and many other lucrative opportunities.
