What VISA do you apply for as a international student who is looking to take a job as a nurse?
I know that because RN is not considered a strictly undergraduate degree because you can become a RN without a degree, sometimes we don't qualify for H1 B visa so what VISA can I qualify for and apply for?

The gent above has left a great answer. Just a brief overview of my experience as a Canadian , it was a TN visa, I-94 I believe. Used to be every year had to go to an outside border for customs (not airport) and take my nursing diploma or degree, $50, offer letter of intent to hire, and a valid CGFNS certificate (foreign graduate verification - quite a lengthy & expensive & mandatory process). HR supplied the letter. Now I think it’s every 3 years. But absolutely agree to go to the USCIS website.

Hi Hargun!
Work visa's kind of depends on several factors. Your nationality, education level, the purpose of the immigration, etc. For a nursing job I would assume H1 B is definitely a good option. I guess it will depend in you already have an F-1 student visa, which can open the possibility of using OPT, or if you already have a job offer which would allow you to apply for a H1 B which would be sponsored by your employer. If you were a Mexican national another option is a TN visa, which is part of the former NAFTA which allows Mexican and Canadian nationals to do professional practices in the US. I would recommend you do some research on the USCIS website or read this site: https://en.usvisaservice.de/us-visa/work-visa/ which has some good information on work visas.
