I do not know if you intend to attend college in the USa but I can explain a method to reduce the cost in the USA. Although this example is from the Pittsburgh, USA area, I am sure the same approach is applicable to other states in the USA (and maybe elsewhere in the world).

The local community college in Pittsburgh (CCAC) offers two nanotechnology degrees:
https://catalog.ccac.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=5&poid=1092
https://catalog.ccac.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=4&poid=832

The first degree is a 2-year (associates) degree and the link explains that it has been designed to transfer to two different 4-year universities: Clairon and Penn State University. Since community colleges are almost always significantly lower in cost, you can save money by going to a community college the first two years and then transfer to the 4-year university for the second two years. If you go this route, make sure you talk with the advisors at both colleges to ensure that each of the community college classes will be accepted by the 4-year university.

The second link is for a certificate in nanotechnology. Although it is not a college degree, each of the classes is also required by the 2 and 4-year degrees so you can start with the certificate, then complete the 2-year associate, and finish with the 4-year degree. It's a step approach which allows you to stop if you run out of money or if you wish to work for awhile between "steps".

And finally, many students choose to attend classes part time while working either part or full time. In addition, many USA employers will pay for college tuition for night classes.

Hi Dennis!

It sounds like you are embarking on a very interesting and challenging field.

Before investigating nanotechnology in the US, it would be good to visit these sites about nanotechnology in India. You may not have to go the US to achieve your dream:

If you still feel it is necessary to come to the US for an educaiton, here is some information about nanotechnology education in the

Let me know if and how this is of help. Keep me posted. I would like to follow your progress.
