Erik - Look into Ryan Leslie's "Future Music Business Scholars" - It captures the essence of both music production and entrepreneurship for an extremely reasonable cost - http://fmbs.biz/

I know that there are many avenues of approach when obtaining your education in music. You might want to look into Indiana University and the Jacobs school of music. They have an amazing school of music. I hope this helps and good luck!

There are a lot of options, you just have to FIND them. There are the higher end schools that are crazy expensive and not exactly ideal if you want a degree- because most people who go to those schools get some kind of success and leave or don't get any and drop out. Research smaller schools that fit a smaller budget better. I go to a small university for audio, music, and music business. Best decision I ever made. However, because it's a SMALLER school, it took some digging to find. Different schools call their programs different things- especially if you want to go into audio production. Look for programs like Audio Production, Music Technology, Music Recording, Recording Technology or some combination of those. Hope this helps!
