Hi there, i have a few questions to ask. (1) I have made my timetable for the bachelor of nursing, i had to deallocate myself from a lecture so that i could put in a lab earlier to 8am as that session went for 5.5 hours, so now i have a lecture that is not allocated and there is no other times to select. would i be able to access this online (like a recorded video type). (2) My next question is that i have had all my vaccinations done needed for placements however i will still need to have my flu vaccination in flu season, but i have to hand in these documents in march, so would i hand in the flu vaccine on its own later in the winter months and hand in the other documents on the due date? (3) I still have not received my ID card, would this effect my access to campus? or is there another way i can get in without my ID card?

Hi, i am a new student studying the bachelor of nursing, i am so excited! #nursing

1. Not sure if you meant a single lecture or a semester long lecture class.. But for anything online, you would have to talk with the school registration or the department head/professor to see if an online option is provided for that specific lecture you have missed. Sometimes they can give you exceptions depending on your individual situation.

2. If your deadline is March of this year, you will provide the flu vaccination for this current season (from Oct 2021 - March 2022). Now once you begin nursing school, you'll have to update them with the new flu vaccine form, which will start around sept/oct of this year. In Nursing school, the flu shots have to be updated every time for any outside clinicals.

3. ID cards are important to get into school facilities like the library, dorms, and some class buildings. You should be able to get this solved in person or over phone/email with the school. Lots of people have these problems in the beginning, so you won't be the only one with the issue. Student help desk/registration area should be accessible to students without IDs. Try searching ID issue in the school website and see how you can get help.

1) You could check for the lab tutor contact and ask for whether they are aware of how the lab will be run and where, ie online or in-person. Otherwise, this may need to be flagged to Student Services or the department responsible for facilitating your timetable, possibly the Nursing department within the Faculty of Medicine for example.

2) For vaccination records, please confirm your question with Student Services or the Faculty of Medicine just to be sure as different universities may have different policies.

3) Not having your student ID may affect your attendance at exams since this is most likely needed to prove you are who you are. Again, you nay need to speak with Student Services or the department that issues student ID cards at your university.

Hope this helps and take care

Megan’s Answer

Hi Ruby it’s awesome your becoming a nurse. These are definitely questions to ask directly to the school you have been accepted too as these are more logistical questions not so much nursing. I would hate for someone to give you the wrong answer and affect your acceptance in the nursing program. The flu shot I would just submit the one from last year if you didn’t get one last year go get one now it’s still considered flu season. Good luck
