How many years of college do you have to have to be a orthodontist?

It typically takes about 10 years total to become an orthodontist.
4 years to obtain a bachelor's degree
another 4 years of dental school
then 2 more years in a post doctoral program devoted to the study of orthodontics

The answer above is correct, however most orthodontic programs in Canada and the US are 3 years in duration. Few are 2 years in length.
