Hi James! The best part of my job is protecting data, learning new technologies and being able to be very creative in solving problems. Information Security is constantly evolving and so are my skills. I love that about the field.

Learning everyday, breaking stuff, and being humbled.
There is so much to learn in the cyber security field there is not enough time. I say breaking stuff because I know for sure I'm not perfect but being able to try and fail as taught me so much. Of course, test in your test environment...we would not want to bring down anything in prod.
And being humbled by learning from so many other people that have way more experience definitely makes me strive for more.

The satisfaction of keeping rogue/criminals out or prevent them for gullible people is the biggest satisfaction anyone can get.
You are making subtle difference in the world.
Someone told me “what is the purpose of your life?”

As an infosec analyst one monitors and analyzes the behavior of the network or system and prepares and shares an elaborate report containing the findings, with the CISO and other top level folks. Essentially, one gets immense satisfaction by serving ones best towards information security and thereby contributing towards the security of either the company's or the target system's intel.
