Thomas’s Answer

There are a number of great MBA programs in Kansas, but which one is right for you depends on your particular goals and interests. If you want to stay close to home, the University of Kansas offers a top-ranked program with a strong focus on entrepreneurship. Washburn University is another excellent option, known for its hands-on approach and small class sizes.

If you're looking to get out of the state for your MBA, there are plenty of great options in neighboring states. The University of Missouri has an acclaimed business school, and Baylor University's program is ranked among the best in the country. Wichita State University is another great choice, offering an affordable MBA with a focus on real-world experience.

Kyle’s Answer

You asked about the best MBA program in Kansas, but the best MBA program for you depends on the fit with you and your needs and goals.

So, it's difficult to answer which is best, but easier to answer which are highest-ranked in the US News & World Report MBA rankings.

The top-ranked MBA program in Kansas, according to the US News 2022 rankings is the University of Kansas (KU).

You can see the writeup on the KU program here:
https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-business-schools/university-of-kansas-01087

Checkout the KU website for more info: https://business.ku.edu/graduate-programs/full-time-mba

Note that other Kansas MBA programs are technically unranked in the US News ratings, but I'd suggest researching and visiting MBA programs near Topeka, including KU in Lawrence, Kansas State in Manhattan, Washburn in Topeka, and others of interest near you.

As Tyghe answered, you can find more info on MBA programs in Kansas here ( https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-business-schools/mba-rankings/kansas ) and at each schools website.

Good luck!

Hi again Genevieve (I answered another of your questions...)

US News and World Report does ranking for business schools, and gives some general information about schools, even if they're not ranked (cost, programs, etc.). This link is filtered to only include KS, but you can look remove that filter if you're interested in learning about universities other places: https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-business-schools/mba-rankings/kansas

As Thomas said, it depends on your goals and interests. Different schools may offer different specialties (my alma mater, University of Colorado, Denver has a commodities program, for example, that is pretty unique). If you find a school you're interested in, it may be worth checking out the faculty in the area that interests you, and see what kinds of research they're doing. That could potentially help you find a mentor who's working on something you're really interested in.

One last point about the faculty and how that could impact your experience: the faculty at top-tier schools may not be as engaged in educating you. Teaching positions at these institutions are competitive, and faculty are generally expected to publish journal articles, so that often takes up much of their time. So Teacher's Assistants may be more involved, and professors may be more difficult to access outside of class. This was my experience at the University of Chicago, anyway, and may not be reflective of all top-tier schools. Publishing is generally big at all of them though.

Just my two cents. I hope that helps, and good luck!
