Hey I am an RDN, not in sports nutrition but I have friends that are sports dietitian nutritionists. You would want to major in dietetics (to become a registered dietitian nutritionist or RDN) and minor in Kinesiology, exercise physiology, or some schools have a nutrition fitness & health option. If you get into a dietetics program, consider getting a job or volunteering with the athletic programs on campus. If you are interested in nutrition as a career, especially if you are looking to help people or working in professional sports (most NFL, NHL, or MMA athletes work with an RDN), Olympics, or military, you must become a registered dietitian nutritionist. Many state universities offer top notch dietetics programs. After completing your degree (now it’s a master’s level profession) you apply to a dietetic internship, then take your board exam to become credentialed. Good luck!

Hi Valerie! I’m finishing my major in Nutrition.
For being a nutritionist you have to study a major that has to do with human dietetics and nutrition.
Once you finish your career you can look for minors that have to do with sports dietetics. I don’t know what’s the best college in the USA to study a nutrition major, but once you start looking for minors there are many around the world that offer you sports dietetics.
Good luck, studying nutrition has been the best experience for me :)

Raven’s Answer

Your major should be Nutrition or Dietetics. Your minor should be Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or something related to sports/exercise.
Research colleges that offer these majors & minors (start with a simple Google search) and decide which programs you are interested in and you think may be the best for you to attend. Then apply to them.
