I did not have experience in my field. I started as a low level sales rep and worked my way up over the years.

Diana’s Answer

Hi there,

It is very disappointing to finish your career, your degree, your certification, or diploma and nobody wanted to hire you because you do not have the experience they need. I was there once as well. So, I started working in a different field in the meantime, but I never gave up on my dream job. With time, I learned to move to a company that could help me to reach the position I need. It takes time, but you will get it. Do not get discourage just be patient.

I worked as a barista with no experience; I was trained after being hired.
I worked in childcare with only home-based experience and was given opportunities to shadow and attend courses once hired.
I worked in a doctor's office as a receptionist with no experience and was trained for several weeks before being put on shift.
Now I'm in the Navy and work with aircraft records and received all my training after enlisting and graduating bootcamp.

Brandalyn’s Answer

I did not have experience when I entered nursing school. Throughout the nursing school process you will be exposed to various nursing roles and have guidance from both the nurses you work under and your instructors when you are doing your clinical rotation. This gives you both an idea of the different types of nursing and why it is important, while teaching you the skills needed to succeed. Also to keep in mind, most nurses struggle with their self-esteem in relation to their skills for the first year of work during the role transition from student to nurse, regardless of previous experience or exposure to the role.

Dipali’s Answer

I did not have any experience as software trainee. When I started my internship that gave some experience. Also, leaders used to assign modules or tasks that we made sure to complete on time.
