Hey there Leeah, I don’t know anything in regards to cosmetology but hopefully I can help give my insight into fashion. I am a graduate of the Art Institute of Dallas where I got my bachelors in Fashion Marketing & Management. I currently work as a lead production assistant for Dallas’s Fashion Group International chapter and hold a position with Gucci as well. So as we dissect the broad career of Fashion ask yourself what you see yourself focusing on. Consider different aspects of the career, are you more focused on Design elements in being creative and hands on in terms of making your own designs or are you more business oriented? You can be in design or you can focus on the production aspects of setting up runway shows. There is also doing fashion editorials for brands, being either for commercial or print shoots just depends on what you tend to be more gravitated towards but what I recommend is looking into anything local that may be going in your hometown check like LinkedIn, eventbrite, google, social media hashtags as this can help you with possible Internship opportunities to further see what the world of fashion can do for you.
