College admissions boards typically look for a variety of leadership experiences that demonstrate your ability to take initiative, collaborate with others, and make a positive impact in your community. Holding a position in student government, such as class president or student body president, shows that you have experience leading a group of people and organizing events and initiatives that benefit the student body. Being a leader of a club or organization, such as a sports team or community service group, shows that you have experience managing a group of individuals towards a common goal. Taking on leadership roles in volunteer or community service organizations shows that you are committed to making a positive impact and have experience leading and organizing others towards a shared goal. Holding a job or internship where you have taken on a leadership role or have been responsible for managing others can also demonstrate your leadership skills. Leading personal projects or initiatives, such as starting your own business or organizing a community event, can also demonstrate your ability to take initiative and lead others towards a goal. It's important to note that the quality of your leadership experiences is more important than the quantity. Admissions boards will look for evidence of your impact and accomplishments in your leadership roles, as well as your ability to work collaboratively with others and make a positive impact in your community.

- Being Top in your class. I attend a high school that had 3000+students, and my graduating class had 900+ students, If you could make the top 50% in your class rankings, It may boost your chances
- Playing a sport could also put yourself in a leadership position, can also better your image, as well boost admission chances
- AP, Pre AP classes have proven to boost your admission chances.

Leadership values important for college students
Time management, goal-setting, communication, decision-making, advocating for and defending a cause, accountability, and networking are all key assets to a great leader. Time management: A leader must be willing to take on a variety of responsibilities.

Most importantly - create stories that showcase these values. Be able to explain how you have demonstrated each value.

Leadership experience that results from individual initiative, concern, and involvement are more impactful on admission’s decisions. Leadership of existing clubs or organizations are not as important.

I agree with everyone but want to add student officer, 4h, volunteering, having a part time job, and sports all are excellent examples.
