Robert’s Answer

It depends on what you want to do in agriculture. If you want to work in some of the more ag specific jobs like agronomist or a farm manager than an ag specific school might be best. However, within the agriculture industry there are jobs in IT, HR, Food Safety, R&D, sales, etc. If there is a career that you are interested in you can probably find an agriculture company that has that position. There are even positions available in nutrition and cooking. Many companies that produce seed are interested in how new varieties will prepare, cook, and what nutrition they provide.

Bill’s Answer

Hi Melissa!

Every student who is interested in agriculture and agriculture operations has to check out the University of Arizona. Located in the large city of Tucson, the University of Arizona is a public university with a very large student population.

Degree recipients from the agriculture and agriculture operations program at the University of Arizona get $4,568 more than the typical college graduate in this field shortly after graduation.
