What is the best route to take to become a professional soccer player ?

You didn't specify a sport or activity, so I'll give some general advice.
- If it is for a team sport, such as football, you need to demonstrate superior play to the other players, superior to the extent that professional recruiters will seek you out. Either that, or sign up for any tryouts from teams to see if you can make the cut.
- if it is for an individual sport, such as golf, you can enter competitions that pay the winners. Or you can sign up for olympic trials to see if you can make that cut.
In summary, if you are to be paid by others, they will compare you to others prior to committing to you. The other choice is to bet on your own talents and compete as an individual, I wish you the best,
